2024 Rogue Strongman Invitational – Mitchell Hooper Defended his title
Hooper began the 2024 Rogue Invitational with a strong showing in the max deadlift. Furthermore, he finished in second place behind Hafthor Björnsson, who remains one of the world’s best at the deadlift. Moreover, this performance set the tone for Hooper’s consistent weekend, securing vital points early on.
In the second event, Hooper pulled away from Björnsson. Notably, Hooper claimed his second runner-up finish, while Björnsson ranked last, marking the biggest misstep of his competition. Lastly, this mistake allowed Hooper to take the lead and maintain a strong position at the top of the leaderboard.
In addition, the third event saw Hooper and Björnsson capitalize on their leader’s advantage, going last to beat the time set by others. Notably, Tom Stoltman, the “King of the Stones,” had set the bar high. However, both Hooper and Björnsson pushed hard to finish as the top two in the event, further solidifying their dominance.

Stoltman wasn’t about to let anyone steal his thunder at home. Furthermore, he won event four, with Björnsson and Hooper finishing second and third, respectively. Moreover, this was Hooper’s worst result of the competition, but he bounced back strong. Also, Hooper scored his only event win in the Yoke Escalator, solidifying his reputation as a contender for the title of “Monarch of the Yoke.” Ultimately, heading into the final event, Hooper’s lead was so secure that only a massive mistake could jeopardize his victory. Instead, he delivered a flawless performance, completing all four overhead lifts, alongside event winner Luke Stoltman.
