Event 1 — Max Axle Press
The 2024 Giants Live Strongman Classic kicked off with the Max Axle Press. Moreover, athletes aimed to clean and press the heaviest weight possible using an axle barbell. Also, each competitor took turns to establish their one-rep max, with some eyeing a World Record.
Furthermore, Mitchell Hooper dominated this event, setting a new World Record with a lift of 218 kilograms (480.6 pounds). Also, his performance outstripped the rest of the field, as all other competitors managed lifts below 200 kilograms (440.9 pounds).
However, Tom Stoltman and Pavlo Kordiyaka finished in a tie for second place, each pressing 195 kilograms (429.9 pounds). Moreover, Stoltman, who might have been capable of lifting more, was hindered by insufficient rest time.
Lastly, Hooper’s achievement not only secured him the win but highlighted his superior strength in this event. However, the disparity between his performance and that of the others was significant.

Event 2— Axle Deadlift
The second event of the 2024 Giants Live Strongman Classic was the Axle Deadlift. Moreover, athletes had to perform as many repetitions as possible with a stiff axle barbell weighing 360 kilograms (793.7 pounds).
Furthermore, Mitchell Hooper continued his dominance, completing eight reps to win the event. Also, his performance on the Axle Deadlift underscored his exceptional strength.
Moreover, Mathew Ragg, known for his prowess in deadlifting, took second place. Furthermore, Ragg managed seven repetitions, finishing just behind Hooper. Also, his strong showing reflected his skill in this challenging event.

Event 3 — Conan’s Wheel
The third event of the 2024 Giants Live Strongman Classic was Conan’s Wheel. Moreover, this grueling test required athletes to carry a 200-kilogram (440.9-pound) metal beam, rotating it around a central point. Furthermore, the goal was to cover the most degrees possible.
In addition, Pavlo Kordiyaka redeemed himself from a weak performance in the deadlift. However, On Conan’s Whee he spun the beam for 1,035 degrees, far surpassing his competitors. Also, his result was particularly impressive given he was among the first to compete and lacked insight into the optimal strategy.
Furthermore, Mitchell Hooper maintained his lead in the overall standings, finishing second in this event. Moreover, he completed 836 degrees, extending his margin over Tom Stoltman. Stoltman managed 826 degrees, securing third place.

Event 4 — Wrecking Ball Hold
The fourth event of the 2024 Giants Live Strongman Classic tested grip strength with the Wrecking Ball Hold. Furthermore, athletes had to grip a massive 275-kilogram (606.3-pound) Wrecking Ball from atop a platform and hold it for as long as possible.
Additionally, Mitchell Hooper resumed his dominance, winning the event with a hold of 118 seconds. However, he narrowly missed the 2-minute mark but extended his overall lead to 12 points, effectively sealing his victory with this performance.
Furthermore, Oleksii Novikov, the 2020 World’s Strongest Man, took second place with a time of 104 seconds. Moreover, it was a notable achievement for Novikov, who has been struggling with injuries.
Lastly, Eddie Williams secured third place, holding the Wrecking Ball for 101 seconds. Ultimately, this was his best showing of the competition, rounding out the top three.

Event 5 — Castle Stones
The final event of the 2024 Giants Live Strongman Classic was the Castle Stones. Athletes had to lift and load a series of massive boulders, ranging from 120 kilograms (264.5 pounds) to 200 kilograms (440.9 pounds), as quickly as possible.
Tom Stoltman, the renowned “King of Stones,” dominated the event. He completed all five stones in just 20.81 seconds, securing his victory in the final event and finishing second overall.
Kane Francis took second place in the Castle Stones, finishing the course in 25.06 seconds. Mathew Ragg followed closely, completing the stones just two seconds after Francis.
Mitchell Hooper, having already secured the overall win, lifted only one stone. He chose not to risk injury, as he only needed a single point to clinch the title.
