The day 3 of the 2024 CrossFit Games has wrapped up in Fort Worth, Texas, setting the stage for the final day. With just one day remaining, Tia-Clair Toomey and Brent Fikowski are leading their divisions and are favored to win.

2024 CrossFit Games Day 3 Individual Events Highlights
Chad
Chad stands out as one of the most grueling single-exercise workouts in CrossFit. Moreover, athletes face the daunting task of climbing 1,000 steps while carrying a weighted ruck. Furthermore, this challenge is not for the faint-hearted, as the repetitive motion puts extreme strain on the body.
Consequently, participants find themselves utterly exhausted. Moreover, the continuous climb leaves their legs and core intensely fatigued. Lastly, this test of endurance pushes even the most experienced competitors to their limits.
For time:
- 1,000 step-ups (35/45 lb)
- *Completed as 250 trips
Men’s Results
While height provided a physical advantage to some athletes in the Chad workout, mental resilience and determination were essential for a strong performance. Furthermore, after nearly 45 minutes of climbing 1,000 steps with a weighted ruck, the competition narrowed down to a few reps. Although Austin Hatfield held the lead for much of the workout, James Sprague overtook him in the final minutes.
Similarly, the race for third place was intensely competitive. Furthermore, Patrick Vellner and Roman Khrennikov were neck and neck, separated by just a few reps. Ultimately, Khrennikov secured third place with a time of 46:33.00, narrowly beating Vellner by three seconds.
- James Sprague — 43:58.00
- Austin Hatfield — 44:09.00
- Roman Khrennikov — 46:33.00
- Patrick Vellner — 46:36.00
- Dallin Pepper — 47:16.00
- Brent Fikowski — 47:36.00

- Jay Crouch — 48:40.00
- Jayson Hopper — 49:16.00
- Harry Lightfoot — 49:44.00
Women’s Results
The Chad workout proved just as grueling for the women, who tackled the same 1,000 steps and carried a 35-pound backpack. Moreover, Emily Rolfe emerged victorious, pushing herself to the limit and finishing in 47:01.00. Consequently, her performance secured her the event win.
In contrast, Gabriela Migala crossed the finish line in second place, 14 seconds behind Rolfe. Meanwhile, Haley Adams, making a remarkable return to the CrossFit Games, secured third place with a time of 47:46.00.
- Emily Rolfe — 47:01.00

- Chloe Gauvin-David — 49:28.00
- Paige Semenza — 49:46.00
- Caroline Stanley — 49:65.00
Clean Ladder
The Clean, a fundamental weightlifting movement, serves as an ideal test of both fitness and strength. Moreover, athletes faced the challenge of multiple rounds with progressively heavier weights. Therefore, while larger, more conditioned athletes seemed poised for success, the technique required for the Clean proved equally crucial in determining their performance.
For time:
- Round 1: 3-3-2-2-1 cleans
- Round 2: 2-1-1-1 cleans
- Round 3: 1-1-1 cleans
- Round 1: 165/175/185/195/205 lb / 255/265/275/285/295 lb
- Round 2: 205/215/225/230 lb / 295/305/315/325 lb
- Round 3: 230/240/250 lb / 325/345/365 lb
Men’s Results
The playing field was cut in half after each round. By the third round, only ten athletes remained. Furthermore, they faced the challenge of cleaning three incredibly heavy barbells, with the heaviest weighing 365 pounds. In the earlier rounds, speed was key. However, in the final round, pure strength became the deciding factor. Under immense pressure, Justin Medeiros was the first to clean the heaviest barbell. His final time was 37.24 seconds.
Additionally, Bruno Marins and Travis Mayer also managed to lift the heaviest weight. Moreover, they were just fractions of a second behind Justin. Furthermore, Bruno finished in second place with a time of 37.74 seconds. Lastly, Travis Mayer, despite being only 0.17 seconds slower than Marins, had to settle for third place.

- Bruno Marins — 37.74
- Travis Mayer — 37.91
- Jack Rozema — 41.73
- Ricky Garard — 42.48
Women’s Results
Tia-Clair Toomey is a constant favorite in any CrossFit event. This was evident in the Clean Ladder, where she secured yet another victory. She understands the value of each point and consistently pushes herself to the limit. In this event, she had to summon every ounce of energy to edge out Kyra Milligan by just 0.1 seconds.
Kyra Milligan delivered an outstanding performance, one that would have easily won against most competitors. Yet, she faced the formidable challenge of competing during Tia-Clair Toomey’s reign. Kyra executed each Clean flawlessly, but even her best wasn’t enough to take the top spot.
- Tia-Clair Toomey — 25.05
- Kyra Milligan — 25.15
- Alex Gazan — 27.49
- Gabriela Migala — 31.98
- Emma Lawson 1:13.61
Push Pull 2.0
The final Individual event of day three, Push Pull 2.0, lived up to its name. To begin, athletes had to execute multiple handstand push-ups, a movement that requires both strength and precision.
Then, they faced the sled pull, an incredibly demanding task. Furthermore, this challenge became even more daunting after the exhausting Chad and Clean Ladder workouts earlier in the day.
For time:
- 45 handstand push-ups
- 80-foot sled pull from standing (110/180 lb)
- 30 strict handstand push-ups
- 80-foot sled pull seated from the platform
- 15 freestanding handstand push-ups
Time cap: 10 minutes
Men’s Results
The freestanding handstand push-ups posed the greatest challenge for many of the men. Several competitors couldn’t complete the event, struggling to master this demanding technique. Yet, Saxon Panchik handled both parts of the event with ease, finishing in an impressive 6:31.80. Furthermore, this performance earned him maximum points and stands out as one of the most exceptional at the 2024 CrossFit Games.
In comparison, Brent Fikowski secured second place with a time of 7:08.36. His result, while slower, was crucial for maintaining his overall lead going into the final day. Meanwhile, Jay Crouch finished third but showed potential for more. Moreover, he had been ahead of Fikowski’s pace until the freestanding handstand push-ups slowed him down.
- Saxon Panchik — 6:31.80
- Brent Fikowski — 7:08.36
- Jay Crouch — 7:24.83
- Ruan Potgieter — 7:35.94

- Travis Mayer — 8:29.66
- Jayson Hopper — 8:37.48
Women’s Results
Lexi Neely, a rookie at the 2024 CrossFit Games, dominated the final event of the third day. Also, drawing on her gymnastics background, Lexi excelled in the 15 freestanding handstand push-ups. Furthermore, she executed nine consecutive reps, followed by six more, outpacing the competition. In contrast, most athletes broke the exercise into five sets of three reps with rest periods. Lexi’s time of 06:03.41 was unmatched.
Additionally, Alexis Raptis also delivered a strong performance but fell short of Lexi’s impressive pace. However, despite being nearly 30 seconds slower, Alexis secured second place and earned significant points.

2024 CrossFit Games Day 3 Teams Events Highlights
Inverted Earthworm
The earthworm cleans required a collective effort, while the handstand push-ups did not need to be split evenly among team members. Thus, teams could focus on athletes skilled in this movement. However, they still had to be cautious not to overexert their strengths and risk burnout.
For time:
- 20 Earthworm cleans
- 60 handstand push-ups
- 20 Earthworm cleans
- 40 strict handstand push-ups
- 20 Earthworm cleans
- 10 freestanding handstand push-ups
If the event appeared challenging on paper, the fact that only one team completed it underscores its exceptional difficulty. Peak 360 CrossFit emerged as the sole team to finish, doing so precisely as the time cap buzzer sounded.
In addition, Raw Iron CrossFit Mayhem Thunder took second place, falling just 13 repetitions short of completion. While this might seem underwhelming in other contexts, their performance was impressive given the event’s demands. Lastly, CrossFit Invictus, completing five fewer reps than Raw Iron, secured third place.

As a result, ‘3 Amigos’ highlighted the importance of teamwork. Furthermore, the event showcased how well teams could work together to execute complex movements. Ultimately, it proved to be a rigorous challenge for all involved.

Ultimately, Raw Iron’s proficiency with dumbbells allowed them to pull ahead and secure the win.
CrossFit Invictus, alongside two other teams, vied intensely for second place. The competition was tight, with teams matching each other rep for rep on each exercise. In the end, CrossFit Invictus claimed second place, while Peak 360 CrossFit finished third.
