Introducing the Masters 40+ Lineup Contenders
Among the standout names in the lineup, Rauno Heinla is possibly the most anticipated contender in the 2023 OSG Masters 40+. He secured the second place in the previous edition, losing narrowly to Zydrunas Savickas in a tie-breaker. However, Heinla is now stronger than ever, having recently set a new 540-kilogram (1,190.5-pound) 18-inch deadlift world record.
Coming Out of Retirement
Laurence “Big Loz” Shahlaei Laurence “Big Loz” Shahlaei is another prominent athlete emerging from retirement to vie for the title of 2023 World’s Strongest Master. Big Loz boasts an illustrious career, which includes winning the 2016 Europe’s Strongest Man, Britain’s Strongest Man, UK’s Strongest Man, among other prestigious titles. Apart from his competitive achievements, Shahlaei is a celebrated coach, having mentored Mitchell Hooper to secure the 2023 World’s Strongest Man title.
Another Shot at Glory
Jerry Pritchett Jerry Pritchett, another renowned strongman, also aims to clinch the 2023 OSG Masters 40+ title. After competing in the 2021 edition and landing third place, Pritchett is now gearing up to improve his standings.
Strongman Legend’s Comeback
JF Caron Canadian strongman legend JF Caron is yet another exciting addition to the lineup. Known for his remarkable static strength and mental resilience, Caron’s career has been marked by numerous successes. However, a severe injury at the 2022 Arnold Strongman Classic, resulting in tears in both his quads, had led him to announce the end of his strongman career. Nevertheless, circumstances have since changed, and Caron is now prepared to make a return to the sport with his eyes set firmly on the 2023 World’s Strongest Master title.

Prospective Additions to the Lineup
Although the current Masters 40+ lineup for the 2023 OSG is already incredibly competitive, there may yet be additions. OSG has revealed that they extended an invitation to the previous year’s champion, Zydrunas Savickas, though he has not yet accepted.
