Andrew Bostinto has spent a lifetime pushing boundaries. Now, at 100-year-old, the World War II veteran has reached a new milestone as a Bodybuilder. Recently, he stepped on stage in the Men’s Physique division, becoming the oldest bodybuilder ever to compete.
On May 10, Bostinto entered the NGA Gator Classic. There, he continued his lifelong commitment to fitness. The National Gym Association later announced his historic appearance.

Currently, Jim Arrington holds the Guinness World Record for oldest bodybuilder at 92. However, the NGA noted that Bostinto didn’t qualify because he isn’t an IFBB Pro.
“It has been determined that Andrew Bostinto does not qualify for the Guinness World Record because he is not a PRO with the IFBB. Maybe, there needs to be a Drug-Free Oldest Bodybuilder in the World!! Plus Guinness wanted a minimum of $16,000. This is all a money-making business and nothing else.”

Andrew Bostinto celebrated his 100th birthday in the most fitting way — with a workout. Naturally, this surprised no one who knows his history. Since 1938, Bostinto has devoted himself to training and promoting drug-free bodybuilding.
Moreover, he’s widely known as the “godfather of natural bodybuilding.” In 1979, he founded the National Gym Association, a non-profit that continues to thrive today. Through it, Bostinto has mentored generations of athletes and championed clean competition.

Earlier, in 1963, Bostinto opened the Olympia Gym and Health Club in Queens, New York. There, he built the foundation for his success. In 1977, he reached one of his proudest milestones — winning Pro Mr. America as a natural bodybuilder.
Beyond the gym, Bostinto served with distinction in World War II. He earned the Bronze Star for his bravery.
Additionally, he played a key role in the sport’s early history. He officiated the 1970 and 1971 Mr. Olympia contests. Along the way, he built friendships with legends like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Lou Ferrigno.
